Growing up with one foot in Europe and the other in the United States, Michael graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service. After attending the Bundestag Internship Program in Bonn, Germany, and volunteering for several months in the Philippines, Michael spent 15 years working in finance with positions in the Private Wealth and Fixed Income Trading divisions at Deutsche Bank as well as Bear Stearns / J.P. Morgan in New York City as well as Berlin, Germany.

With a deep dedication to service work, Michael then began his successful real estate career in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area together with his family. His international and program management experience has provided Michael with expert insight and a unique understanding of all the dynamics at play in the residential real estate market. Consistently emphasizing the privacy and confidentiality of his clients, Michael strives to provide a world-class level of professional service.

Michael is married to Caroline Heinen, and together they are raising their daughter, who is attending the German International School in Washington, DC. Being an active part of the school community along with other Board positions allows Michael the opportunity to continuously perform service work in helping others. Michael is bilingual, speaking English and German, and is licensed in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
